The 39mm Seiko SRK050 was my gateway into watches. Its simple dial with small seconds and roman numerals provided a safe elegance I needed to match business casual attire.
For the price, an impressive 6G28 quartz movement keeps this watch running within an accuracy of plus or minus 20 seconds a month with a 3 year battery life. That, alongside a sapphire crystal to protect against scratches and a 5 bar water resistance makes the SRK050 an immense value for money.
Seiko retails this around $250 but grey marketplace dealers (such as Jomashop) regularly discount to about $120.
Other dial and case colors are available if gold and white don’t suit your tastes.
I can’t really find any faults with this watch. It’s timeless and well made. My only complain lies with the strap itself which is to be expected with such an inexpensive watch; The leather was stiff and took quite some time to break in.

The white dial is very playful with light. Definitely a watch for the disco!
We even get applied studs on the dial and a stamped strap buckle.

On the wrist, expect this watch to sit both flat and a little larger than you’d think due to the large dial and small bezel. It will easily slide under a cuff.
The Seiko SRK050 is a timeless design and I can see this becoming a sought-after vintage piece in 50 years. It’s hard to go wrong here, this is a recommended watch.
